Scream Therapy…Great Way to Release Your Monday September 14, 2009

cathissEver have one of those days where the anger and frustration builds inside to the point where even someone sneezing too loudly beside you or a run on sentence with no punctuation can send you into a rage?

We all have those days where the negative energy builds inside and you feel like you will explode. There are the typical ways of handling it:

  1. Stop by the store on the way home and buy a case of beer, McCain’s Deep and Delicious Cake and or pack of smokes and drink, eat and smoke the whole thing
  2. Take it out on a significant other, someone who cuts you off in traffic or the clerk who short changed you
  3. Keep it held in so it makes you physically sick

OR

You can scream at the top of your lungs over and over until you get it all out. How do you do this? If you are driving in your car roll up the windows and wait until no one is driving right beside you and scream as loud as you can. Bring it up from the gut and really let it out, put your whole body into it.

If you don’t have a car grab a pillow and scream into it, it will muffle the sound but you will still get the release. It works like a charm, just keep doing it (try not to hurt yourself however) until you feel calmed down.

I did this today and I feel so much better, try it and see for yourself.
